Hello Friends, We still have a few little knee to waist plus waves at Dee Why this morning. Skies were sunny as the day started there was a light westerly fanning the incoming lines of the 1.3 metre 10 second ESE swell.

Hello Friends, Perfect conditions this morning with a light westerly, sunny skies and smooth seas. However, as the pictures show, the 1 metre, 9 second east wind swell was producing only knee to maybe waist high waves for the early risers at Dee Why on the mid-tide (it’ll be high at 0950).

Hello Friends, Checked a few spots on this morning’s Manly run and there are still a few soft looking waves left around. The biggest sets at the magnets were producing chest plus wave faces, but for the most part it was generally inconsistent, weak and around waist high on the peaks.

Hello Friends, The wind turned NNE last night and as of 0730 this morning was already blowing 9-13 kts. As you can see from the pics, that means surface conditions were quite choppy at Dee Why. The wind will pick up to 15-25 kts.

Hello Friends, Sunday kicked off with shoulder to head and a bit high sets at Dee Why for the keen crowds. Swell was 1.7 metres at a healthy 13 seconds from the SE as of 0830. Wind was light NW, but due to step up into the strong wind warning range by this afternoon.

Hello Friends, The pictures tell the story and the numbers confirm it. I was hoping for a repeat of yesterday morning’s conditions, but there was a steady ESE wind all night and though it dialled back a little at dawn, it was still 8-10 kts.

Hello Friends, Filing late today because I stopped for a splash at Curly on my way back to RealSurf HQ. We have a 13.5 sec south pulse this morning, with swell at sea in the 1.5 metre range. That meant magnets were seeing head high wave faces on the bigger sets.

Hello Friends, Thursday started out with a quick, heavy shower along the southern part of the peninsula and it looks like we could easily get more as the day goes along. As of 0900 the wind was 4-7 kts from the north which gave the 1 metre, 8-second SSE wind swell a textured, choppy quality.

Hello Friends, February finishes up with little waves for the keen this morning at Dee Why. As you can see from the pictures it’s around the waist high mark on the bigger ones and surface conditions were reasonably smooth before 0800.

Hello Friends, There looked to be a few shoulder high wave faces on the bomb sets before 0800 this morning at Dee Why. Skies were partly cloudy and wind was coming from the SSW at 8-12 kts which, as you can see, meant conditions were choppy but sideshore.

Hello Friends, Wind faded back to 6-7 kts from the north overnight, but the Bureau says it’ll pick up steadily across the morning and be 20-25 kts this afternoon. Swell at 0840 was 1.2 metres and coming from the ESE with a reasonable 12 second period.
