Hello Friends, Another humid and hazy morning for Sydneysiders. Surf prospects are minimal, with only a faint 5-second period NE wind bump wafting in. It’d be generous to call it thigh-high. Still, the water’s clean and a tropical 24, while the sea breezes were light before 0800.

Hello Friends, A hot and sunny day coming up for Sydney with a high of 35 on the cards but, sadly, we won’t have much in the way of waves. At 0730 the wind was coming from the NNE at 11-14 kts. It’ll get into the 15-20 kts range as the day heats up.

Hello Friends, There were a few little remnants of the south swell left in the mix, but apart from well protected north corners like North Curly (see below), the NNE wind that’s been blowing since late yesterday morning ensured the open stretches were choppy.

Hello Friends, Not happening. Wind’s been blowing SSE-ESE since 1730 yesterday and as of 0700 was 11-14 kts. It should swing E-NE this afternoon. Swell’s still mainly dead south and 1.5 metres at 8 seconds apart.

Hello Friends, The 1.7 metre high tide at 1020 was already damping the dead south swell by 0730 at Dee Why. Out at sea it was 1.4 m at 11 seconds as of 0500, so there is some energy in the system. Unfortunately most of it is out to sea.
