Scrappy but surfable Monday morning

0 26

Hello Friends,

The wind turned NNE last night and as of 0730 this morning was already blowing 9-13 kts. As you can see from the pics, that means surface conditions were quite choppy at Dee Why. The wind will pick up to 15-25 kts. Waves looked to be in the waist high range for the most part, but there were a few bigger sets still in the mix. Out at sea it was 1.9 metres at 7 seconds from the NE. So don’t expect the power we saw yesterday. We’re in for a scorcher today, so lots of folks will be getting wet, whatever the conditions.

Tomorrow morning might be a bit better wind-wise but over all the trend looks like being to smaller, but still surfable across the rest of the week.

Go well!

Weather Situation

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast, bringing east to northeasterly winds. A trough will bring a southerly change to the southern coast today, before an associated cold front delivers a vigorous westerly change to southern and central areas on Tuesday, reinforced by another front passing to the south on Wednesday. Winds will shift southerly during Thursday as a new ridge of high pressure extends across New South Wales from the west.
