Sideshore and raw for Monday morning
Hello Friends,
There looked to be a few shoulder high wave faces on the bomb sets before 0800 this morning at Dee Why. Skies were partly cloudy and wind was coming from the SSW at 8-12 kts which, as you can see, meant conditions were choppy but sideshore. Out at sea the 1.6 metre swell was coming from the NE at 10 seconds apart. Tide was dropping to the low at 0915. It’ll be back to high at 1500. The weather call is for a maximum of 27 and a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Beachwatch reports clean, 24C water along most beaches.
Outlook is for the scrappy conditions to continue but to get smaller over the next few days and potentially to be tiny by the end of the work week. Oh and the weather promises to be showery through to Sunday at least. Summer’s sputtering as it fades away. Bring on the autumn!
Weather Situation
Fresh and gusty northeasterly winds along the coast ahead of a trough which continues to move up the coast into the evening, shifting further up the coast into Monday. After this, northeasterly winds will redevelop as the trough weakens and a ridge of high pressure develops.
