Tuesday sees a few little waves for the early

0 5

Hello Friends,

February finishes up with little waves for the keen this morning at Dee Why. As you can see from the pictures it’s around the waist high mark on the bigger ones and surface conditions were reasonably smooth before 0800. But it looked rather weak and inconsistent too. Wind was out of the WNW at a barely-there 3 kts as of 0700. It should gradually drift around to E-SE as we get toward lunch time, so as usual, the earlier you hit it, the better. Swell at sea was 1.2 metres at 9 seconds from the ESE as of 0700. Tide hits low at 1030 and weather should be more cloudy than not as we head to a high of 27. Water is 24 and clean according to Beachwatch.

This morning’s swell prediction models are not particularly encouraging. If they have it right, we’re going to bumble around in the marginal to near flat range right through to next week.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Northeasterly winds are expected to redevelop throughout by this evening ahead of a stronger southerly change with a cold front moving along the coast during Wednesday. The southerly change is likely to reach the far north Thursday morning with winds gradually tending more southeasterly during Friday.
