Hello Friends, Quite a number of folk in the water just north of the surf club at around 0730. I might have caught a lull, but it looked to me like the waits between the waist-high sets were pretty long.

Hello Friends, No surf to speak of at Dee Why this morning. However, the MHL buoy was detecting a metre of 14-second south swell, so there might be a bump to be found at a more optimally aligned location.

Hello Friends, Everything’s in place for a sunny, offshore Saturday… everything but the waves. Yesterday’s unexpected little south pulse has faded away overnight and as of 0500 it was a metre and coming from the SSE at 8 seconds apart.

Hello Friends, Kind of busy looking along the Dee Why end of the beach as of 0800. Waves looked to be in the waist to maybe chest-high range on the sets. Wind was 10-13kts from the west under largely clear skies.

Hello Friends, At 0730 we had 10-15 kts of north wind, partly cloudy skies, and a metre of dead south swell which was coming in at 10 seconds apart. The best south exposures might be seeing the odd waist high set, but Dee Why looks to be nearly flat.

Looking very small on Wednesday morning at Dee Why

Hello Friends, A sunny start to Wednesday along with a light westerly breeze at Dee Why. However, as the pictures show, wave energy is at a low ebb. At 0600, the MHL waverider buoy was seeing 1.2 metres of 14-second SSE swell, but I didn’t see any evidence of it when I grabbed the snaps.

Hello Friends, It looks like the plan was to pull out the mal or the SUP on Tuesday morning at Dee Why. Skies were still mostly overcast and there was a 60% chance of showers, but the wind was westerly at 5-6 kts.

Hello Friends, Rain threatening, but there were waves to be had thanks to 1.7 metres of 11-second south swell. It wasn’t amazing or anything and the waits between the waist high sets were on the long side, but you could come away from a session with a wave or two added to you lifetime count.
