Nice morning, shame about the lack of waves
Hello Friends,
Everything’s in place for a sunny, offshore Saturday… everything but the waves. Yesterday’s unexpected little south pulse has faded away overnight and as of 0500 it was a metre and coming from the SSE at 8 seconds apart. As the pictures show, that means its pretty much flat in most places and even where there is a wave, as the picture shows, you pretty much need a SUP to get into one.
Outlook is for maybe a slight uptick but with a short period and SE wind due to arrive in the afternoon, plus a 90% chance of showers, it’s probably not going to be terribly attractive. By Monday the rain will still be a factor, but the wind should be light early and south spots could be starting to get into the fun range. The showery stuff is set to continue into midweek and the south swell should stretch out a bit, so with luck by Wednesday we just might have a partly cloudy morning and all day offshores…
Go well with your Saturday everyone and catch you again tomorrow.
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over the state is bringing light and variable winds in many parts. A cold front will brush the coast during the weekend, then another trough in the west is forecast to enter the New South Wales coast and deepen to a low pressure system later on Monday before quickly moving offshore early Tuesday, directing south to southeasterly winds in the wake.
