Rutgers promotes 2 people to replace fired swimming coach
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers has named Frederick Woodruff and Jon Maccoll as co-head coaches of the Scarlet Knights' women's swimming and diving program.
Athletic director Pat Hobbs announced the move Wednesday, saying the promotions are effective immediately.
The announcement comes a little less than three weeks after Rutgers fired coach Petra Martin amid mental and verbal abuse allegations.
Woodruff is in his 25th year as head diving coach for the Scarlet Knights. He had been named interim head swimming coach in November. Maccoll began his first season with the university in October as the assistant swimming coach.
