Top Italian club 'schedule' talks with 25yo, Man Utd want him out
Manchester United have received a timely boost in their efforts to shift deadwood and generate much-needed funds this summer.
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have already made contact with Man United to sign winger Sancho and have now scheduled talks with the player.
He has also attracted interest from Napoli and Fenerbahce but Juventus look to be in the driving seat to seal his transfer.
Sancho is firmly out of the picture at Old Trafford following high-profile fallouts with previous managers and a growing disconnect with the club’s supporters.
He spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but the spell failed to reignite his career, marred by inconsistency and underwhelming displays.
He managed to contribute just five goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
The Blues decided against signing him permanently after Sancho declined to decrease his wages.
Chelsea were happier paying a £5 million penalty to United rather than meeting Sancho’s unrealistic demands.
The 25-year-old is guilty of failing to deliver the goods since his £73m move from Borussia Dortmund to United in 2021.
With only one year left on his contract, United know this summer is their final opportunity to cash in before losing him for free.
A move to Juventus could offer Sancho the chance to reset and rebuild his career in a more tactical, less physically demanding league.
Sancho lacks the pace to thrive as a winger and his creative skills have also rapidly declined over the last four years.
The Italian outfit feel that they can still bring the best out of the England international who was once hailed as a generational talent.
If personal terms can be agreed, United are hoping to bank a fee in the region of £20m to finally draw the curtain on a costly, disappointing chapter.
