0 4

Last weekend, ASV proudly hosted the Scottish Masters Long Course Meet 2025, bringing together swimmers from across the region for a competitive and exhilarating event. SCB was represented by an impressive 55 members, all eager to showcase their talents and achieve their personal goals.

Well done to all participants who took part and strived to meet their individual aims. The meet saw swimmers breaking records, achieving qualification times, setting new personal bests, returning to competition after a hiatus, racing long course for the first time, and simply enjoying a fun day out. Our heartfelt thanks also go to those who volunteered to officiate during the event.

Several SCB members distinguished themselves by breaking records: Audrey Cooper, British Records: 200IM, 400IM, Scottish Records: 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 BRST, 400 FC, 200 BC. Kevin Reynard, Scottish Records: 50 Fly, 50 BC. Robert Bryce, Scottish Record: 200 BRST. June Falconer, Scottish Record: 200 BC.

A special mention must go to our Men 240+ Medley Team, comprising Martin Snape, Bill Reid, Kevin Reynard, and Brian Bain. The team swam outstanding legs within the relay of the final event at the meet, breaking the British Record with a remarkable time of 5.04.65.

The Scottish Masters Long Course Meet 2025 was a resounding success, and the achievements of SCB’s members have certainly set the bar high for future competitions. Congratulations to all the swimmers and volunteers who made this event memorable. Here’s to more records being shattered and more personal bests being achieved.
