Several sports at Stanford are on quite a hot streak.

Under coach Jeremy Gunn, the men’s soccer team has won the past three NCAA titles.

Women’s soccer coach Paul Ratcliffe has guided two national champions and reached the College Cup seven times.

The women’s swimming and diving team under Greg Meehan has led the Cardinal to the past two national titles.

John Vargas led the men’s water-polo team to the national title in 2002, his first season at the helm. His teams have reached the finals five times.

Additionally, the women’s softball team — 19-32 a year ago, but 22-23 this season — appears on the upswing under first-year coach Jessica Allister.
