The oldest record to fall in the girls was in the 13-14 age group where Rebecca Gooch took the 100m backstroke championship record in a time of 1.11.32 from Amy Waddington (bettering Amy's time by 0.77 seconds) - a record that had stood since 1997.

In the boys, the oldest record to go was in the 15-16 age group where Stanley Richardson took the 200m backstroke championship record in a time of 2.36.76 from Ross Mould - (bettering Ross' time by 0.05 seconds) - a record that had stood since 2009
