City of Norwich Swimming Club, March Long Course Meet
Dereham Otters delivered an excellent weekend of performances at the March Long Course meet, with swimmers showcasing the hard work and dedication built throughout the season.
Across 104 swims, the team produced an impressive 68 personal bests, underlining the strong progress being made throughout the squad.
A standout highlight came from Tyler Jenness, who produced an outstanding series of swims to secure five County Qualifying Times for the 2027 Championships. His determination and focus across multiple events showed great maturity, and the results are a clear reward for his commitment in training. Several swimmers also raised the standard further by achieving Regional Qualifying Times for 2026, reflecting the growing strength and ambition within the squad.
There was also significant medal success for the Otters, who finished the meet with four gold, six silver and two bronze medals. Imogen Parnell enjoyed a superb competition, delivering confident races and claiming multiple medals. Her composure in finals was particularly notable and highlighted her continued progress. Dolcie Underwood also had a successful meet, adding to the medal tally with strong, determined swims that demonstrated clear technical development and race awareness.
Charley Taylor continued the podium success, securing medal finishes through consistent performances across the weekend. It was especially encouraging to see strong heat swims converted into medal-winning finals.
Overall, the March Long Course meet proved to be a highly positive competition for Dereham Otters, with county and regional qualification standards achieved alongside numerous medals and a remarkable number of personal bests. The coaching team expressed pride in the swimmers’ effort, attitude and team spirit, and look forward to building on this momentum in upcoming competitions.
