EAA education platform gains almost 24,000 users within its first year

The European Aquatics Academy’s dedicated site – the digital education platform – attracted almost 24,000 users in its first full year of operation.

And within Europe that uptake has been headed by The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece.

Data on the popularity of the EAA site, which launched in January 2025, shows a steadily growing number of people have accessed the hub which offers a range of educational clinics and training across every aspect of aquatics, with many of the courses being online.

At the end of the first month, 2997 users had logged in for the first time. In the course of 2025 the average of new users coming aboard each month was just shy of 2000, so that the total number of users by December 31 stood at 23,749.

The Netherlands led the way in 2025 with 866 new users, followed by Germany, which totalled 688, Italy (617), Spain (578), Greece (562), Croatia (425), Ireland (405), Portugal (396) and France (388). There was also interest from around the world, with China and the United States – where user numbers for 2025 totalled close to 3,000 and 1500 respectively.

Speaking in January 2025 at the first clinic to be held by the EAA – a three-day Open Water Swimming clinic for judges and officials – European Aquatics President Antonio Silva announced: “This platform represents a monumental step forward for European Aquatics.

“It embodies our commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and the continuous development of our community”.

Daniel Marinho, EAA project manager, added: “This clinic was our first initiative in the new educational platform. It was a very positive workshop that allowed us to gather officials from all over Europe.”

The EAA has carried on in the same vein, to the advantage of aquatics officials and participants all over the world.
