Paul France – Leaving

0 7

Today, we say farewell, though not goodbye, to a long-standing and much-valued member of the Guildford City Swimming Club family, Paul France. Paul will be stepping away from his Lead Coach Position with PC Gold on the 14th November.
Paul’s journey with us began in 1998, and over the past 27 years, he has left an indelible mark on our club, our swimmers, and our coaching community. In 2002, Paul became a qualified Level 2 teacher, and from there, his dedication and enthusiasm only grew stronger.
Whether it was on poolside with the Development Squads through their many incarnations or working tirelessly within the Learn to Swim programme at City of London Freemen’s School, Paul has always brought a calm presence, quiet determination, and unwavering support to both the athletes and the coaching team. He has helped shape countless young swimmers not just in their technique, but in their confidence, discipline, and love for the sport.
Paul has worn many hats during his time with us, and through it all, he’s remained someone we could always rely on. Steady, thoughtful, and committed to the growth and success of the swimmers in his care.
While he now leaves us in a more formal capacity to embark on a new and very different path, joining the prison service, we know that the values he brought to our poolside will serve him well in this new chapter. And we’re incredibly proud of him for taking on such an important role.
We are also comforted by the fact that this is not truly goodbye. Paul will still remain part of the Guildford City family as a casual coach, and we look forward to welcoming him back whenever he can spare the time.
On behalf of the entire Club and Management Team, Paul — thank you. Thank you for your years of service, your mentorship, your good humour, and your steadfast dedication. You have made a lasting difference, and you leave behind a legacy that will continue to ripple through our club for years to come.
We wish you every success, safety, and fulfilment in your new career.
You will always have a lane here at Guildford City.

*Exciting news on the new PC Gold coach will be announced tomorrow*
