The official bulletin for the European Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships 2025, which will take place from 19 to 21 June in Setubal, Portugal, is now available to view. This prestigious event will bring together the best young open water swimmers from across the continent for three days of elite competition in one of Europe’s most iconic open water swimming venues.

The competition will be held at Parque Urbano de Albarquel, a venue with a proud history of hosting major international events, including three Olympic qualification tournaments in 2012, 2016 and 2021. The city’s proven track record, natural beauty, and warm hospitality make it an ideal host once again for this competition.

The event is open to junior athletes aged 14 to 19, with races scheduled across multiple age groups and distances. The programme includes 10 km races for 18–19-year-olds, 7.5 km races for 16–17-year-olds, and 5 km races for 14–15-year-olds. In addition to these individual events, there will be knockout competitions across all age groups and mixed relay races over 6 km for both Under-16 and Under-19 teams. The competition days are set as follows: 10 km and 7.5 km races on 19 June, 5 km and knockout events on 20 June, and the mixed relays on 21 June.

Official training will begin on 16 June, with sessions available at both the Municipal Swimming Pool of Manteigadas and in the ocean. Teams will also attend a technical meeting on 18 June to finalise preparations. Accommodation for athletes and officials will be provided at the Novotel Setubal and Melia Setubal hotels, with transport services arranged between Lisbon Airport, the hotels, and the competition venue by the Portuguese Swimming Federation.

The bulletin includes comprehensive details on race formats, training schedules, accommodation, visa requirements, and event logistics. With the stage now set, anticipation is building for what promises to be an exciting and inspiring edition of the European Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships.
