European Aquatics to host nutrition clinic at Open Water Swimming Championships
As part of its ongoing commitment to coach and athlete development, European Aquatics will deliver a targeted educational session during the upcoming European Aquatics Open Water Championships Stari Grad 2025.
The clinic, titled “Role of nutrition in preparation for Open Water Swimming events”, will be led by nutrition expert Veronika Stefanik and will take place on May 29 at 18:00 local time in the Conference Room of the Team Hotel Aminess Senses.
The session will explore the critical role of nutrition in enhancing performance for open water swimmers, with a particular focus on strategies to optimise endurance, recovery, and overall wellbeing. Participants will gain expert insights into daily nutrition goals during the training phase, race week strategies, and race-day fuelling techniques.
Stefanik will also address the effective use of supplements for swimmers and discuss special nutritional considerations unique to open water events. The clinic is designed to provide attendees with practical, evidence-based guidance that can be implemented immediately in their coaching or personal preparation routines.
The clinic offers an exclusive opportunity for direct engagement and discussion in a focused setting. As with all European Aquatics development initiatives, this workshop supports the wider goal of delivering high-quality, accessible education alongside major championships.
Registration is now open via the European Aquatics Academy platform, and early sign-up is strongly encouraged due to limited availability.
