Water polo club competitions prize money increases for 2025/26 season
European Aquatics has confirmed an increase in prize money for the top-performing clubs in next season’s Champions League and Euro Cup.
The significant rises – and reduced entry fees – are a direct result of the three-year sponsorship deal European Aquatics secured with Wood Nest Sports (WNS) in January for all of its club competitions.
In the men’s Champions League, the 2025/26 winners will be awarded €125,000, which is a substantial increase compared to previous seasons.
Another change is only the winners, runners-up, plus the third and fourth-placed teams from the Champions League Final Four will be rewarded, ensuring each of the sides that reach the showpiece event take home a much bigger prize.
The men’s Euro Cup 2025/26 champions prize money has also been doubled, with the addition of prize money for the runners-up as well.
Prize money for the women’s Champions League has also been increased, with the 2025/26 winners set to receive €20,000, while the prize money for the women’s Euro Cup victors remains the same.
Overall, the total prize money for the 2025/2026 season will be €435,000.
As well as the rise in prize money, there will be no entry fee increases for any club competition next season, as all of the fees will be reduced, including the men’s Champions League to €20,000.
