0 2

Guildford City Swimming Club retained their National Arena League Championship title on Sunday 2 March 2025 in Cardiff coming out on top as the best swimming club in Britain. In a day of high drama that saw the lead change hands multiple times the Surrey club won by a very thin 4 points over closest rivals Repton School.
Chief Coach Lee Spindlow stated “We knew going into the national final that it was going to be very close, we really had to rely on our amazing strength in depth and trust that our swimmers would raise their individual games to meet the challenge. The team spirit was inspiring and the cheer that went up at the end of the gala when we realised, we had won was deafening.”
Ben Rowett – Lead Coach of the Junior Performance Squad echoed “We are very proud of all of our swimmers. They gave everything they had and left nothing to chance. They wanted this victory as much as the Coaches!”
Guildford City joins the ranks of elite swimming clubs being only the 6th club in history to win the National Arena League Championship title in back-to-back years, dating back to 1970-71 the following have succeeded in this extraordinary feat- City of Southampton – City of Coventry – City of Leeds – Plymouth Leander – Mount Kelly College.
