0 5

President of the Barbados Aquatic Sports Association (BASA) Robert Armstrong has praised the national swimmers for their efforts in an exceptional year for the sport, marked by outstanding achievements at local, regional and international competitions.

In expressing optimism for even greater accomplishments in 2025, Armstrong said BASA has outlined an ambitious agenda aimed at growth and sustainability in aquatic sports.

He acknowledged the challenges of sustaining youth participation in sports post-COVID-19 and emphasised the importance of promoting aquatics as both a sporting activity and a vital life skill.

“We wish to continue to maintain and grow aquatic sports in Barbados, being mindful that continued participation in sports has been a challenge amongst youth,” Armstrong explained in an interview with NATION SPORT. (ML)
