EastEnders’ Mick and Linda face losing Ollie after she bursts in drunk on the child’s social worker
EASTENDERS’ Mick and Linda Carter face a battle to keep hold of son Ollie after he’s forced to tell a social worker: “My wife is an alcoholic.”
The visit from Loretta Perkins from Walford Child Services was going swimmingly – until Linda burst in roaring drunk.
Just as the expert was saying: “It’s clearly a happy home”, the wayward landlady staggered in, yelling: “Who’s that? What you looking at?”
Referring to her head injury, she roared: “Never banged your head on a cupboard before? Ollie, Ollie, give mummy a big kiss.”
That led Loretta to come to the conclusion that the injuries had come from Mick attacking her.
Danny Dyer’s character fretted: “She thinks I’ve knocked L about – because of her bruises. She’s talking about putting in protective measures for Ollie.”
Shirley Carter urged her son: “You have to tell her the truth. This is not the time to protect Linda.”
He sits the social worker down in the Vic and tells her straight: “I know what you’re thinking. Wife with bruises, husband going the quickstep to appease.”
But he added: “That woman means everything to me. I would never lay a finger on her. I swear to you I would never lay a finger on her.”
She protested: “If I feel Ollie is in danger, I have to act.”
