Cal, Stanford coaches will lead U.S. swim teams in 2020 Olympics

The swimming coaches from Cal and Stanford will again join forces to take on the best the world has to offer.

USA Swimming on Monday named Cal’s David Durden and Stanford’s Greg Meehan as the men’s and women’s coaches, respectively, for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The announcements were made by by USA Swimming National Team managing director Lindsay Mintenko.

“I am grateful to the swimmers I have worked with, the coaches I have stood shoulder to shoulder with, the Cal Aquatic community that has supported me, and to our Athletic Director Jim Knowlton and his leadership to help me be in this position,” said Durden, who is in his 12th season in Berkeley.
