France or Italy?

…and the answer is Italy with the family (not France with my pilot and support team!)

The wind forecast for Monday and Tuesday looked so good 5 days ago, with a window starting at 10am lasting at least 30 hours. A plan was formed – I would stay behind to swim on Monday, whilst the family departed on holiday to Italy. And then having swum I would catch them up a few days later in Venice:

But then the forecast moved again…and, not surprising given the record this year, in the wrong direction:

The window that was, previously, just about wide enough for me to attempt a 2-way has now closed down to barely 12 hours over night!

So instead of the channel and France, I will go see the canals of Venice and Italy!
