Hello Friends, Well there’s a turn up for the books. Yesterday the call was for southerlies this morning, but lo and behold, it was actually westerly at 0730. So the early risers who weren’t put off by the forecast were rewarded with clean chest to head high sets at Dee Why.

Hello Friends, The wind blew SSW strongly overnight and then around 0700 shifted to dead south at 15-30 kts. The Bureau says it could hit 35 kts (55+ km/h) later this morning. As you can see from the pics, surf conditions at the point were pretty ordinary.

Hello Friends, The east swell’s ticked up a notch this morning and while the ENE wind was bumping the surface, it was still looking okay at 0800. Swell at sea was close to the two metre mark and about 10 seconds apart.

Hello Friends, It was still a little hazy at 0800 this morning and the NNE wind was lightly texturing the soft looking waist plus waves. Swell at sea was 1.5 metres at 11 seconds from the east. Tide was high at 0640 and will hit low at 1330.

Hello Friends, As of 0730 the wind was NNE at 7-11 kts and swell out at sea was 1.2 metres at 9 seconds from the east. The wind’s been blowing steadily all night, so as you can see from the pics, the surface conditions were lightly choppy as the day got started.
