New Year’s Day starts little, lumpy and junky
Happy New Year to you my friends,
Hope you had a great NYE everyone. Turns out that having a late start to this morning is neither here nor there where the surf’s concerned. As you can see from the pics, the ENE wind which was 9-13 kts by 0730 took its toll on surface conditions pretty quickly. South corners like Dee Why are pretty beat up and messy. The straight east swell energy has weakened a bit as well with average heights at sea of 1.3 metres at 10 seconds. Tide was high at 0500 and will hit low at 1120. It’ll be back to high at 1700. Might be an idea to dial in a late afternoon session at your favourite east swell spot as it could push up into the chest high range on sets.
Swell and wind settings are pretty much on rinse-and-repeat for through Wednesday, ie plan for the early.
Go well!
