MONTREAT, N.C. – While the Cavs' softball team was sweeping the Brenau Tigers several miles away in Black Mountain, its baseball team took two from a quality Hiwassee College team in Montreat at Newell Field.

Off another long weather-forced break, St. Ambrose lost a doubleheader at Trinity International Tuesday afternoon. Playing for the first time since March 31 after four postponements, the Bees fell 1-0 in the opener and 3-2 in the second game to move to 18-8 overall and 4-2 in the CCAC.
Defensively it was almost a gem for Georgetown College softball Tuesday against No. 4 Campbellsville University. However, offensively the GC Tigers struggled to string hits together at the right time stranding 12 total in the twinbill at Tiger Softball Complex.
NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University's Megan Groves and Tennessee Tech's Taylor Waldrop were named the Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Tuesday for their performances for games April 2-8.

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. – The Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies arrived this weekend with a 33-2 record to play the Montreat Cavaliers softball team. They backed up the mark as they won both games against Montreat (11-26) in a Sunday doubleheader.
