Match Preview

After reaching the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup in midweek with a 1-0 home win over Queen of the South, Raith Rovers are back at Stark’s Park this Saturday, with Arbroath the visitors.

The Red Lichties are one of the most in-form teams in the division, with just one defeat in their last nine games in all competitions, with that coming last time out against league leaders St Johnstone in Perth.

David Gold and Colin Hamilton’s side have possibly been the biggest surprise package in the Championship this term, with last season’s League One champions sitting third in the table, looking handily placed to qualify for the promotion playoffs at the end of the campaign.

However, they have struggled against Rovers so far, with the Kirkcaldy side the only team in the division they’ve yet to score against.

Paul Hanlon, Richard Chin and Jack Hamilton were the goal scorers the last time the two sides met in Kirkcaldy in September, while the teams played out a stalemate at Gayfield in November.

Rovers do have a good recent record against Arbroath, winning five and drawing four of the last 10 meetings.

Saturday’s match referee will be Duncan Nicolson.

Head-To-Head Record:

Raith Rovers wins: 51

Arbroath wins: 35

Draws: 24
