The 'born in a B postcode' XI - No 1, the goalie
I had conversation with one of the younger lads at work last week about the lack of top class players that have emerged out of Brum over recent years. So go ahead, enlighten me.
The criteria;
Must have been born or at least brought up within a B postcode.
Must have played in the colour tv era at least. I'm all for letting the old, old codgers join in but anything before about '66 was just a bunch of unfit blokes bludgeoning around a field that was only fit to hold a car boot sale. Besides, through rose-tinted glass, everyone that played for Blues, say more than 20 years ago, was brilliant.
In goal I'm going for Tony Coton. Born & raised in Tamworth, which to the best of my knowledge is all B postcoded. With no arrogance at all, it may be difficult to challenge that.
To keep it simple, the formation will be old-school 4-4-2. It's ok to name villa blokes if you must.
