Report: Tottenham are ‘on the verge’ of loaning £12m signing to a new club
Luka Vuskovic will continue his footballing journey in Belgium for the 2024/25 campaign, as Fabrizio Romano reveals the young defender is set to join Westerlo on loan for the year.
Who is Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic?
Signed at the age of 16 by Spurs for a fee of £12m (TNT Sports), Vuskovic spent a few months with Hajduk Split before moving to Polish side, Radomiak Radom, to further his development.
Vuskovic excelled with his new club, registering three goals and one assist in 14 games from February onwards (Transfermarkt).
The young Croatian cannot play for Tottenham until he turns 18, which will be in February of next year. Vuskovic is expected to finally arrive in England next summer, but he has some work to do before that.
For one, Vuskovic has not earned enough Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) points to be allowed to play in England. Plans were in motion to find the player a stronger league to play in for the upcoming campaign, with Belgium and the Netherlands cited as possible destinations (Weszlo).

Now, we know where Vuskovic will ply his trade for the 2024/25 campaign, and he will be heading to Belgium as had been expected.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Exclusive: Tottenham future defender Luka Vusković is on the verge of joining Belgian side Westerlo.
“Understand loan deal has been agreed on player side with Croatian 2007 born defender. Paperwork pending between Hajduk Split and Westerlo to approve the loan and sign.”

This will be a solid step up for Vuskovic, but should be at a level where he can flourish rather than finding himself out of his depth at all.
Then, onto England the year after, and we’ll see if he goes straight into the Premier League with Spurs, or whether he has one more loan spell to go through.
