LAURINBURG, NC- The St. Andrews University men's soccer team fell 0-6 to conference opponent Bryan College (Tenn.) on Senior Day at home Saturday afternoon.
The first goal of the game came within the first 5 minutes with a shot from Jonathan Ricketts from Bryan College. Shortly after, the Lions were able to find the net with an assist by Charlie Clarke to Brad Spooner for the goal in the 6th minute.
The Lions had 15 shots in the first half while Junior Goalkeeper Valentino Parini (JR/Milan, Italy) saved 5 of the 7 shots on goal.
Bryan dominated in shots 15-0 after the first half and ended up outshooting SAU 23-1 overall as the Lions continued to push shots in the second half. SAU had one lone shot in the game but could not connect with the net. The Lions were able to score four goals in the second half, with the final score being 0-6.
Goalkeeper Valentino Parini made six saves on 12 shots on goal in the loss as SAU dropped to 2-11-1 overall and 1-8 in the conference. Bryan improves to 6-3-1 overall and 9-5-2 in the AAC.
St. Andrews will next be on the road Monday to play Point University in conference play.
