JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The University of Rio Grande divided a pair of matches on Friday in the opening round of the Mountain Madness Classic hosted by Milligan University at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
The RedStorm swept St. Andrews (NC) University in their opening contest by scores of 26-24, 25-18, 25-20 before falling in straight sets to Blue Mountain (MS) College, 25-14, 25-22, 25-18.
With the opening match victory, Rio Grande posted its first 3-0 start to a season since 1992.
