In the American Anaheim, the World Weightlifting Championship ended. Uzbekistan was worthily represented among 400 athletes from 72 countries. Only Ivan Efremov was awarded a medal in the sum of the biathlon, who was becoming the bronze medalist of the championship.

The world champion among young men Adhamjon Ergashev (weight category 62 kg) took the fourth place in the sum of biathlon, raising 292 kg - 135 kg in a snatch ("bronze") and 157 kg in a jerk. The trophy winners included Antonio Valencia from Colombia (130/170 kg), Yoichi Itokazu from Japan (134/165) and Shota Mishvelidze from Georgia (135/157).

Doston Yokubov (69 kg) took the sixth overall place with the result of 314 kg - 135 kg in a snatch, and in the jerk - 179 kg ("gold") - the first gold medal of Uzbekistan in this weight category. Won Jeong Sik from South Korea (148/178) is in the first position, Tayrat Bunsook from Thailand (147/174) - in second place, Bernardine Kingu Matam from France - on the third (141/177).

The 20-year-old Farkhodbek Sobirov (94 kg), one of the youngest athletes of the tournament, won a silver medal, showing the result of 183 kg in a snatch.
Because of the injury, he was unable to take part in the exercises to raise the barbell in a jerk.

Ivan Efremov (105 kg) took the third place with the result of 399 kg in the sum of the biathlon ("bronze") - 182 kg in a snatch ("silver") and 217 kg in the jerk. The champion was Iranian Ali Hashemi (183/221), followed by Latvian athlete Arthurs Plesnieks (182/217).
