Good Luck Matt & Lucy Hawkrigg

As you are all aware Matt & Lucy Hawkrigg will be representing the Liverpool & District Region at the RLSS National Lifesaving Competition on Saturday 5th November

 

They are competing in the 12-14yrs age group and to be successful will need to score highly in all the following categories:

1. Life Support and First Aid

2. Speed Rope Throw & Rescue

3. 25m Swim & Tow

4 Wet Incident - Working as a pair they will be faced with a pool emergency. There will be 8 casualties.

All events are timed.

 

They will not only need skill and speed but will also need to “hold their nerve”. Coiling and  throwing a rope accurately is extremely difficult when under pressure. Taking command of situations ,when you know none of the multiple casualties, requires both learnt skill and the ability to think on your fee
