Euro Cup Men: Eight Finals draw serves up several highly anticipated ties

With the arrival of the sides who fell short in the Champions League Group Stage, the Euro Cup Eight Finals will – as usual – witness several huge battles. It’s also a great test to see who will perform better here – the best teams from the Euro Cup Group Stage or those that fell from the Champions League.

Eight Finals Draw

Panathinaikos AC (GRE) v Jadran m:tel Herceg Novi (MNE)
CSM Oradea (ROU) v CN Terrassa (ESP)
KEIO CN Sabadell (ESP) v VK Sabac Elixir (SRB)
CN Barcelona (ESP) v SPD Radnicki (SRB)
RN Savona (ITA) v CN Marseille (FRA)
Vasas-Plaket (HUN) v BVSC Manna ABC (HUN)
VPK Primorac Kotor (MNE) v VK Jug AO (CRO)
Szolnoki Dozsa Praktiker (HUN) v VK Jadran Split (CRO)

One of the absolute highlights is the clash between Savona and Marseille – just a year ago, the two sides were competing in the Champions League Quarter Final Stage, and now only one of them can make the last eight in the Euro Cup.

After being eliminated from the Champions League, Radnicki Kragujevac should look for some consolation in the second-tier competition, but the first hurdle is already challenging – a massive duel with Spain’s CN Barcelona.

Interestingly, this will not be the only Spanish vs Serbian tussle, as Sabadell and Sabac were also paired to battle for a Quarter Final berth.

The all-Hungarian clash between Vasas and BVSC promises sheer excitement too, just like Jadran Split’s thrilling encounter with the third Magyar side, Szolnok.

The other Jadran, Herceg Novi, faces a Greek challenge in Panathinaikos, while fellow Montenegrin side Primorac will not have to travel too far as they meet Jug Dubrovnik in another highly anticipated clash.

Oradea, who managed to advance to the Champions League Quarter Final Stage last season, had to settle for a Euro Cup campaign this year, and it starts with tricky encounters against Spain’s third side, Terrassa.

The first legs are scheduled to take place
