Apostolos Tsagkarakis appointed as new Sport Director of European Aquatics

European Aquatics is pleased to announce that Apostolos Tsagkarakis has been appointed as Sport Director, a new position, starting with immediate effect.

The role of Sport Director, which will oversee all the aquatics’ disciplines including water polo, underlines the importance of sport event organisation as the core business of European Aquatics and the need to create a structure that is suitable for an organisation that continues to grow significantly in terms of human resources.

An Olympic athlete, Apostolos has been Director of Aquatics disciplines (not including water polo) since he joined European Aquatics in November 2022. He started his career in sports marketing, with a national role representing a leading brand in the swimwear industry, later being responsible for setting up sport events and management companies, and directing professional sports groups.
