Results of EA Athlete of the Year to be released from January 9 – with 60,000-plus public votes cast
The votes are in for the European Aquatics Athlete of the Year 2025 – and response has been enormous.
A total of 61, 614 public votes have been registered, with men’s swimming receiving the largest proportion.
As in previous years, the public vote via the website weighs 30%, with the remainder based on the internal vote from national federations.
The Awards celebrate male and female competitors across the whole range of European Aquatics activities – swimming, open water swimming, diving, high diving, artistic swimming and water polo.
Each category featured five nominees, showcasing the depth of talent within aquatics disciplines across the continent.
Nominees were chosen based on their performances during the 2025 season, which included the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore and a range of European Championships in U23 swimming, short course swimming, diving, open water swimming and artistic swimming as well as Champions League and Euro Cup water polo.
Look out for results, which will start to be published on the EA social media channels and website from January 9.
