Elsie Rush

Unfortunately we have to bring you the sad news, that one of Nottinghamshire A.S.A.’s past presidents, a dedicated volunteer within Nottinghamshire swimming and the wider swimming world, sadly passed away peacefully on Wednesday 22nd October.

Elsie was a dedicated volunteer, that would always be on a poolside somewhere, whether that be at a club, county, regional or national competition. Alongside her husband of 55 years, David Rush, if not on front of house duties, you would always find them both in a timing room, running many different competitions. Off the poolside, Elsie would be sorting out most of the admin work behind hosting many competitions, including Nottinghamshire’s very own County Championships, which is no small task.

Unfortunately, in recent years, due to a strong health concern, Elsie and David were forced to take more of a back seat in the swimming world, which is why they have not been in attendance at many competitions, however, still involved in the background.

Elsie will be very much missed within the swimming world from club all the way to national level swimming, and Nottinghamshire A.S.A.’s thoughts are with David and the family at this sad time.
