0 69

European Aquatics, in close collaboration with World Aquatics and Poland Aquatics, is delighted to confirm the full programme for the upcoming International Conference for Swimming Coaches, which will take place from 19–21 September 2025 in Warsaw, Poland. Hosted at the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel, the three-day event will bring together some of the most respected coaches and experts in the sport for a rich blend of keynote presentations, technical clinics, panel discussions and practical training sessions.

Proceedings will open on Friday 19 September with a welcome from representatives of the three organising bodies before the focus turns to the first series of expert talks. Germany’s Bernd Berkham will share his philosophy and key principles of mid-distance training, while Lee Taylor of the United Kingdom will present his latest work on core temperature characterisation during European Aquatics open water competitions. Alberto Silva of Brazil will then chart the evolution of sprint training, leading into a wide-ranging panel discussion featuring Adrian Radulescu, Berkham and Bartosz Kieziorowski on one of the most pressing issues in the sport: how to keep young swimmers engaged in competitive swimming.

The Saturday will see Adrian Radulescu hosting a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities involved in coaching world champion David Popovici, followed by Spain’s Raul Arellano, who will explore how artificial intelligence and neural networks are transforming swimmer technique and performance analysis. Berkham will return to the stage to address best practices for working with younger swimmers and supporting their progression into mid-distance events, while Sweden’s Antonio Lutula will provide a fascinating insight into Sarah Sjöström’s preparation for the Paris Olympics. The afternoon will mark the launch of the European Aquatics Innovation Hub, combining an introductory presentation with an interactive meeting, before participants come together for a dedicated networking session and closing remarks from the organisers.

The conference will conclude on Sunday 21 September with a series of practical pool-based sessions in Warsaw. Bartosz Kieziorowski will lead a clinic on starts and turns, while Donek and Jan Oleksow, together with Aleksandra and Eleni Filipiuk, will present ways of diversifying swim training by incorporating elements of water polo and artistic swimming. Artur Paczyński will round off the programme with a workshop on the fundamentals of competitive breaststroke technique.

Running in parallel to the main programme on Saturday, Poland Aquatics will host a dedicated stream of sessions delivered in both English and Polish. These will cover a broad range of topics including infant swimming, youth training methodologies, oxygen endurance in young athletes, legal aspects of protecting minors, pathways in open water development, and the integration of complementary disciplines such as water polo and artistic swimming.

Registration for the International Conference for Swimming Coaches is now open exclusively via the EA Academy platform at eaacademy.eu. Both onsite and online participation is available at a fee of €145. Attendees travelling to Warsaw can benefit from preferential accommodation rates at the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel, with single rooms priced at €140 and double rooms at €150, both including breakfast.

With its diverse and forward-looking programme, this year’s International Conference for Swimming Coaches will provide an unparalleled opportunity for knowledge sharing, networking and professional development. Building on the success of previous European Aquatics Academy initiatives, the Warsaw edition is set to become a landmark moment in the continued evolution of coaching excellence across the continent.
