Antwerp ready to host two key 2026 spring season swimming events
European Aquatics is delighted to shine a spotlight on two major fixtures in next year’s swimming calendar – the Flanders Swimming Cup 2026 from 20 to 22 March, and the Open Belgian Championships Swimming 2026 from 15 to 17 May. Both will take place at the superb Olympic Swimming Centre in Antwerp, home to a 50-metre competition pool, a separate 50-metre training pool, and facilities built to meet the highest international standards. Recognised by both World Aquatics and European Aquatics, these events will offer a perfect mix of elite competition, professional organisation, and a warm welcome.
The city of Antwerp is also a convenient place to host the action. Situated in the centre of the continent and easy to reach as a result of the impressive transport links, Europe’s top athletes will have no trouble getting to the venue.
The Flanders Swimming Cup will see those top swimmers from around the world go head-to-head in a lively, high-energy atmosphere, with prize money adding an extra spark to the racing. Two months later, the Open Belgian Championships will bring another chance to race at the highest level – perfectly timed for those building towards the European Aquatics Championships Paris 2026.
The Olympic Swimming Centre offers full training camp possibilities, allowing teams to extend their stay and get the most out of Antwerp’s first-class facilities. Whether it’s early-season racing in March or final preparations in May, the set-up is perfect for focused, high-quality training.
For athletes chasing personal bests, coaches looking for the right competition environment, or federations seeking new international opportunities, Antwerp 2026 is one to mark on the calendar. The combination of top-class racing, training opportunities, and a vibrant host city makes these meets a perfect opportunity for a good run-in ahead of a busy 2026 summer of swimming.
