Silver City Blues Masters Shine at British Championships
Club Racks Up Medals, Sets Records, and Claims Top Scottish Spot
Silver City Blues Masters Swim Team made a splash at the 2025 British Masters Championships, held at the London Aquatics Center on the weekend of June 14.
Represented by a squad of 16 swimmers spanning a range of age groups and stroke specialties, the team entered 66 events and returned home with an impressive haul: 17 gold, 3 silver, and 9 bronze medals.
The meet also saw several standout individual performances. Audrey set new British records in the 400 IM, 200 Breaststroke, and 200 IM. Karen shattered Scottish records in both the 200m and 100m freestyle events, while Robert set British records in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke and added a Scottish record in the 200m Breaststroke. Bill capped off the record-breaking efforts with a new Scottish mark in the 100m Breaststroke.
Out of 216 teams that scored points at the championships, Silver City Blues finished in a remarkable 8th position overall—making them the highest-placed Scottish club at the event. The club’s enthusiasm was evident, with supporters and athletes alike ensuring that Silver City Blues was also the loudest presence in the stands.
Special mention goes to Sean and Jordan, who traveled to London as part of the STO team to support the meet.
