The European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships 2025, which will take place from July 1 to 6 in Samorín, Slovakia, now have an information bulletin available.

These Championships will be the second of two prestigious events taking place back-to-back at Samorín’s state-of-the-art x-bionic sphere – Slovakia’s National Olympic Training Centre.

The same world-class venue will already have played host to the European Aquatics U23 Swimming Championships 2025 from July 1 to 6, which are doubling as final trials for the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore starting on July 11.

This will mark the first time a single nation has hosted both events in the same year, solidifying Slovakia’s reputation as a hub for elite sports. Samorin, described as “a hidden gem nestled along the Danube River”, is just a short drive from the Slovakian capital of Bratislava.

The Championships, which have received €500,000 in support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, were officially confirmed earlier this year during a signing ceremony attended by Antonio Silva, President of European Aquatics, and Ivan Šulek, President of the Slovak Swimming Federation (SSF).

Silva is looking forward to what he describes as “a major promotion for age-group competition”.

In his foreword to the bulletin he comments: “For six days, Europe’s most talented junior swimmers will compete in an environment that promotes excellence and sustainability and will allow us to celebrate the stars of the future.

“The x-bionic® sphere, a certified European Aquatics performance lab and training centre, where the competition takes place, is a state-of-the-art venue designed to provide the best possible conditions for both athletes and the environment.

“It will allow us to host competition, accommodation and training facilities in one location and so reduce the overall carbon footprint of the event.”

Šulek adds: “This event marks a historic moment for the Slovak Swimming Federation, as it is the first time we have the honour of hosting a European-level swimming competition.

“This milestone could not have been reached without the strong backing of the newly established Ministry of Sport and Tourism, which is paving the way for the growth of Slovak sports and has played a pivotal role in making this event a reality.

“The European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships have always been a stage for showcasing the brightest young talents, and this year will be no exception.

“This competition provides a unique opportunity for junior swimmers to shine, test their limits, and compete at the highest level. we are eager to witness the remarkable skills and determination of these athletes as they represent their nations and contribute to the future of our sport.”

The event is open to athletes born between 2007 and 2011. Official training will take place from June 29 to 30.

The bulletin includes comprehensive details on race formats, training schedules, accommodation, visa requirements and event logistics.
