European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup 2025 Leg 3 in Paris: Bulletin now available
European Aquatics is delighted to announce that the official bulletin for the third leg of the European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup 2025 is now available. The next stop in this prestigious series will take place in one of the world’s most iconic sporting cities – Paris – where elite open water swimmers will return to the River Seine for a spectacular day of racing on Friday, July 25.
With leg 1 in Protaras already being a huge success, the third leg of the five-stop series offers a unique blend of elite sport and cultural heritage, as athletes prepare to take on a challenging 10km course in the Bras de Grenelle, just minutes from the Eiffel Tower. This leg holds particular significance, as it not only revisits the waters that hosted the open water events of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but also serves as a key test event ahead of the 2026 European Aquatics Championships, which will be staged in the French capital.
The newly released bulletin provides comprehensive information for participating teams and national federations, including key logistical details, training schedules, accommodation options, and transport arrangements. It outlines all deadlines for entry submissions, with final entries and accreditations due by July 15, and training sessions scheduled to begin on July 22.
With both the men’s and women’s 10km races taking place on July 25 (at 09:00 and 12:00 local time respectively), this leg of the competition offers valuable ranking points and the chance to earn prize money – with €2,500, €1,500, and €1,000 awarded to the top three European finishers in each race.
Crucially, water quality monitoring – a cornerstone of open water safety – will be rigorously enforced throughout the event. Daily testing will begin on July 1, and a final decision on the suitability of the venue will be made each morning during the competition period. Should the water not meet European Aquatics standards, a contingency venue has been secured, ensuring the event can proceed as planned.
European Aquatics extends its sincere thanks to the French Swimming Federation, led by Gilles Sezionale, for their efforts and professionalism in hosting this leg of the series. Their collaboration with the local organising committee reflects a shared vision to promote sustainable access to water and to further embed aquatic sport into the fabric of city life.
