EA President Silva highlights Let’s Swim Together initiative on EPAM podcast
Global possibilities for the Let’s Swim Together initiative – recently co-launched by European Aquatics and digital transformation company EPAM Systems – have been highlighted on a podcast by EA President Antonio Silva.
Speaking as a guest on the latest edition of The Resonance Test on the EPAM Continuum Podcast Network, President Silva described the Aquatics Social Responsibility initiative as “a very huge and amazing project not only for European Aquatics but for all the companies that will join us.”
He added: “Swimming is not only a sports skill, it’s a life skill. We can use this life skill during the lifespan of any person. It can be useful to prevent drowning for babies, children and adults. And it has a lot of benefits for employees, both mental and physical.”
Launched in February as a pilot programme in Hungary, the initiative – employing the slogan “Let’s Swim Together” – aims initially to immerse EPAM Hungary team members in aquatic sports.
To instill the spirit of the initiative, EPAM Hungary employees have received EPAM-branded swim caps (pictured above) with the same design as those used for EU Aquatics events.
During the podcast, President Silva and Kate Pretkel, EPAM’s VP and Head of Sustainability Programs, addressed questions from Balázs Magyar, Senior Director of Account Management at EPAM.
Host Macy Donaway, senior director of client engagement at EPAM Continuum, commented: “With swimming at its core, this innovative programme offers more than just exercise. It empowers participants to develop key life skills like focus, time management and perseverance, qualities that are just as vital in the pool as they are in solving technical challenges.”
