In Memory of Morag McGlashan

0 97
Morag sadly passed away on this month after a short illness

Morag was a mainstream Warrender Baths Club  and Scotland swimmer. She held a number of East District records in Freestyle & Individual Medlay .Her finest swim was anchoring Scotland to a bronze medal in the 4 x 100m medley relay at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974 with her teammates Sandra Dickie (breaststroke), Kim Wickham (butterfly), and Gillian Fordyce (backstroke).

Morag was a teacher and para coach. She was part of the coaching team at the Paralympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.
After Atlanda, Morag moved to Fife and became a teacher at Rosslyn and Hyndhead School working with pupils with severe and complex needs. Disability Sport Fife was delighted to welcome her to the DSF family.
Her swimming pedigree was exceptional and her skills and abilities as a caring, considerate support coach were up there with the very best.
The thoughts of those at Disability Sport Fife, Scottish Disability Sport, and throughout the UK who knew and had the pleasure of working with Morag are thinking of Morag’s mum, family, and friends during this very sad time.
