Rag’n’Bone Man plans to build huge ‘party barn’ with swimming pool and bar at his £1m Sussex home
RAG’n’Bone Man is splashing out on a ‘party barn’ complete with a swimming pool and bar at his £1million country home, The Sun Online can reveal.
The 35-year-old singer has submitted plans for a huge two-storey outbuilding in the grounds of his four-bedroom pile in East Sussex.
According to plans, the Brit award winner wants to build a ground floor pool, changing rooms, covered entrance and outdoor decking area with a first floor “entertainment space”, which includes a bar, kitchen and balcony terrace.
However, the acclaimed hitmaker could land in hot water with officials as his planning agent revealed that the proposed building is a “similar footprint” as his current house in a statement to his local council.
The planning agent wrote: “The development is proposed as part of the use and enjoyment of the applicant’s property.
“It is acknowledged that the building is of a similar footprint to the original dwelling and is therefore not subservient in this regard.”
Adding: “The footprint has been determined by the required size of the pool and associated facilities therein.
“Indeed, it would not be possible to accommodate a smaller building on site as this would reduce the size of the pool to an extent that it would be unusable.”
The music star, whose real name Rory Graham, bought the pad for £835,000 four years ago but is now believed to be worth almost £1million.
It comes with 2.8 acres of land including a spring and pony paddock.
Last year, a light aircraft pilot died after crashing into a field near the Human hitmaker’s home which is also near a flying school.
Planners at his local council are expected to make a decision on the proposed swimming pool next month and there have so far been no objections from neighbours.
Other famous residents who live nearby include rocker Roger Daltrey, skating legend Jayne Torvill and actress Cate Blanchett.
Elsewhere, The Sun’s Bizarre revealed earlier this month that the British singer had found love again with girlfriend Zoe Beardsall.
His relationship with the waitress and mum-of-three comes a year after his split from wife Beth Rouy.
A source close to the star, who had the biggest male debut album of 2017 with his record Human, said: “They’ve become really close.”
