Lake Dee Why

Hello Friends,

Yesterday’s slight perk in swell energy has faded overnight and this morning sees essentially flat conditions at Dee Why thanks to less than a metre of 9-second NE wind bump. Skies were sunny and the wind was still just 4-5 kts from the WNW at 0830. We can expect the wind to ramp up soon as it builds into the 20-30 kt range by this afternoon. Unfortunately the already paltry swell will only be further reduced by the blasting offshores. This should change tomorrow as a 2+ metre south pulse starts filling in. Unfortunately as that swell builds, the Bureau tells us the wind will swing from W-SW to southerly by the afternoon. Swell looks to peak on Monday, but since the average period is modeled to be in the 8-9 second range I’m not expecting great quality. If the super computers are right Monday should see cloudy weather and light wind for the early. Tues and Weds could see some remnant waist plus energy at the south magnets. The back end of the week is currently looking marginal to tiny but with light wind.
