Hello Friends, The crew at the point around 0800 were doing a fair amount of waiting, but every now and then a (briefly) chest high set would roll through to keep them keen. Wind was light from the north but will be coming around to the SE soon.

Hello Friends, Wind’s been blowing SSE since midnight so, as you can see from the pic, the ocean was a churning mess at Dee Why as Monday got started. The Bureau tells that the wind will continue southerly all day before swinging to the NE.

Hello Friends, Dialled up the haze filtration on the picture this morning because the atmosphere had a distinctly smoky look when I climbed aloft to the RealSurf crows nest. Wind was coming from the SSW at 6-9 kts as of 0830 so the ocean didn’t look too choppy at Dee Why.

Hello Friends, You had to hit it at daybreak because there’s a strong wind warning for 20-30 kts of NE’ly today. The remnant NE windswell from yesterday was lighting up the usual spots. There were heaps of folks having a go at Northy when I checked at 0630ish.

Hello Friends, Micro conditions, but with the right equipment you can get a (very) little something along south-exposed open stretches. Swell at sea was only 0.8 of a metre from the SE, but because there was some 13 second component, there were a few catchable sets in the knee to waist high range.
