Lumpy but bigger

0 21

Hello Friends,

This morning saw light south to SE breezes as of 0800. Swell at sea was 1.8 metres at 14 seconds from pretty much dead south (175°). So, there’s more energy around than we’ve seen for the last few days, but with those long periods, the sets are going to be few and far between. Plus it’s lumpy at Dee Why and not really looking all that attractive. I’d been hoping for better. Adding an additional complication, the first tide of the daylight hours is a very swampy 1.84 high at 1005. It’ll drain out to a lowish 0.33 m at 1650. Weather is going to be cloudy and 25, while that wind get into the 10-15 kt range around the middle of the day. Water temp is sitting on 20C.

The GFS swell model is showing the long period stuff staying dead south and sticking around for the next couple of days. Tomorrow morning could be similar to today with some long period sets to keep it interesting and relatively light south winds early, along with partly cloudy skies. There isn’t anything terribly exciting in the long term outlook, but for what it’s worth, the GFS shows another long period pulse developing overnight on Sunday-Monday, setting us up for maybe something interesting Monday morning…

Go well!
