QPR report £20.8million loss
The club accounts released this week show a loss of £20.8million in the year 2024/5. Although a rise from the previous year, it is roughly what was expected. Turnover was up to £28m, but expenses were also up by £5.7m. The good news is that looking at losses over the last three years brings the club well within the FFP threshold.
To give some context with other Championship clubs our turnover is 15th in the division and wage cost 14th. It could be said that if the team finishes higher than 14th it is a successful season as income reflects placings.
Overall, if the owners continue to write the cheques to cover the losses, then the club is in reasonable shape.
