'Play somewhere else' - Tottenham starlet Luka Vuskovic receives advice from German legend
Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic continues to attract attention across Europe – but one German legend believes the next step in his development should come away from the spotlight, following reports linking the teenager with a move to Bayern Munich.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vuskovic has been steadily making waves out on loan in the Bundesliga with Hamburg.
The 18-year-old was voted the Bundesliga Player of the Season So Far and has been named Rookie Player of the Month three times this season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with top sides like Bayern Munich already sniffing around Vuskovic.
This has seen Vincent Kompany praise the Spurs on-loan star, while Jonathan Tah has since revealed that he been in contact with the 18-year-old Croatian, who has been really good.

However, Vuskovic has now been advised to ignore potential interest from Bayern Munich and spend a year or two playing elsewhere.
That advice comes from Lothar Matthaus, who was speaking about the Tottenham youngster to SportBILD (as relayed by Sport Witness), where he shared his thoughts on the defender’s development and the importance of regular playing time.
“I’m convinced of the player’s potential,” he said. “But for me, it would be more important that Vuskovic gets playing time and doesn’t focus on the big paychecks.
“Even though he’s certainly confident – but if I already have my doubts about Schlotterbeck, that he will not easily get past Tah and Upamecano, then, if I were Vuskovic, I’d play somewhere else for another year or two.”

No doubt, given the talent and the quality of Vuskovic, Tottenham will be keen to keep him within their ranks, as he has huge potential to break into the first team.
The teenager could reach that point next season, depending on how the summer transfer window plays out for the Lilywhites.
There have been a series of rumours surrounding some of Spurs’ defenders. Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, and the same with Radu Dragusin, who has been linked with a move to Italy.
Micky van de Ven is yet to sign a new deal and has also been linked with a move away from Tottenham. Should any one of these centre-backs depart, then Vuskovic could well be part of the Tottenham first-team squad next season.
